About the Event

Few of us were prepared, physically or psychologically, for the everyday life-changing impact the Covid pandemic had on us. Many of our organisations were ill-equipped and, at an individual level - as leaders, employees, team-mates, mums and dads - we muddled our way through at best, crashed and burned at worst.  Getting Comfortable Being Uncomfortable is a 3-day retreat designed to support and empower emerging senior leaders with the personal insight and confidence to navigate volatile, complex and uncertain situations thoughtfully and with compassion.

The Mulberry Retreats Faculty comprises a unique and exceptional combination of deeply lived experience and expertise from the corporate, public sector and start-up worlds.  Their professional and personal stories are remarkable the Faculty shares a commitment to enabling others’ professional and personal growth and supporting their leadership journeys.

Mulberry Retreats takes a holistic approach to leadership development and uses a combination of approaches to help students reconnect with, and trust in, the experience, knowledge and insight they already have, as well as learn new approaches.  We are delighted to be partnering with West Lexham, a beautiful and peaceful location in Norfolk. It is the perfect place to detach and recoup from the relentless stress of the last 18 months and to provide the physical, mental and emotional space necessary for a deeper level of work.  Time for reflection, one-to-one coaching and peer learning is built into the agenda, and physical activities and meditation are provided and encouraged.  On-site chefs provide healthy, nourishing and delicious food to feed the soul, body and mind.

Employers can expect their staff to return with a higher level of energy, improved personal insight and the confidence to lead themselves through challenging situations.  They will have an improved and diverse set of tools and approaches to draw on, and the ability to reach back into subject matter experts as they apply these techniques in their work and prepare for senior leadership.  More detail on the agenda can be found below.

It is important to us that we support leaders in non-profits and believe strongly that the insights and engagement from these different sectors enrich the experience for all.  So we reserve four places on every retreat at a heavily subsidised place for developing leaders in non-profit organisations.  We appreciate our corporate clients' support in enabling us to do this.  If you are from a non-profit and would like to enquire about a place, please contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you and are excited to be on this journey together.
